Hopes fade for Philippines release

"Hopes are fading that Abu Sayyaf rebels in the southern Philippines will soon release at least one of the aid workers they have been holding hostage for more than two months.
A release had been expected on Thursday, after an apparent agreement was reached which would see the military pulling back from an offensive against fighters from the Abu Sayyaf group believed to be holding the three employees of the International Committe of the Red Cross (ICRC)."
