Cebu City jeepney drivers go on strike

CEBU CITY, Philippines -- Members of a jeepney drivers' group in Metro Cebu stopped plying their routes Monday to protest what they called the substantial increase in penalties for traffic violations.
The Nagkahiusang Drayber sa Sugbo (United Drivers of Cebu or NADSU) said its members they would march from Fuente Osmeña in Cebu City to the Central Visayas office of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) office on N. Bacalso Ave., to stage a rally." (2009, Inquirer.net)
